Fin précoce dans le Rallye Dakar pour le Isuzu D-MAX de B.Garland & H.Suzuki sponsorisé par Xtreme
Xtreme-Sponsored Harry Suzuki & Bruce Garland's Isuzu D-MAX had an unexpected premature finish to the world renowned Dakar Rally with a minor setback at the end of week one putting them to the back of the field for the remainder of the Rally. Bruce & Harry had been sitting in a comfortable 23rd place ready to charge the lead teams who had been suffering setbacks from changing weather conditions to reliability issues, this was until an errant spare wheel ended the gallant 2010 Dakar Rally efforts of Bruce Garland and co-driver Harry Suzuki on the events 418km sixth special stage from Antofagasta to Iquique in Chile.
The Isuzu's spare wheel dislodged from its special rear tub mounting after being hastily refitted by Bruce after he used it as a safety auxiliary stand while doing some minor underbody repairs. The wheel bounced forward, hitting & cracking the rear-mounted radiator & causing the engine to overheat. Bruce then had to depart the Rally Route & limp to the stage end via the highway, whereupon rally stewards ruled him out of the event.
