Andrieu Wins Historic Title in French National 4x4 Rally Championship
Xtreme Outback sponsored, Marion Andrieu has won the 2016 National 4x4 Rally Championship in France. Marion started competing in the rally 7 years ago, but this year competed for the first time with new Co-Pilot, Clemence Favy, who is just 17 years old. The championship win comes after a fantastic 2016 season with six wins, two second places, one third place and just one retirement.
Marion and Clemence are not only the first women in more than 50 years to win the title in this category, but Clemence is also the youngest person to reach the title in France.
Their last event of the season in Evreu saw the women choose a low risk approach, knowing they couldn’t afford a retirement or to lose any precious time in order to keep their points lead. They finished the rally in second place, allowing them to maintain their overall first position in the championship and the title win.
Xtreme Outback, the 4x4 division of clutch specialists, Australian Clutch Services, has been sponsoring and supporting Marion for the past 3 seasons.
“Marion is not only an amazing pilot”, explains Xtreme Outback Managing Director, Brenton Jordan, “She is also a great ambassador of our brand. She has a good knowledge of the product and has provided us with great feedback over the past 3 years.”
Xtreme Outback has supplied a heavy duty ceramic clutch kit for Marion’s Isuzu D-Max, a product the company says is ideal for racing in a rally environment with so many different terrains to deal with.
“We’re very proud to have been part of Marion and Clemence’s journey to the top”, adds Brenton Jordan “Their win this season is a lesson in determination, ambition and hard work. We look forward to seeing them progress in their motorsport careers, we are sure they will continue to see great success.”
